Tour Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

  Your private driver will receive you at the Casablanca Airport and will drive you to your hotel in a van. If you arrive early in the day, you can opt for an optional tour of the absolutely breathtaking Hasan II Mosque, which has been handcrafted to perfection and is also one of the largest mosques in the world. The beautiful marble, mosaics and woodcarvings will definitely make your heart skip a beat! If you arrive in the evening or later, you can check in and relax in your luxurious room.

• Day 2: Casablanca | Rabat | Chefchaouen

  After breakfast, you will leave for Chefchaouen, the Blue City of Morocco located in the Rif Mountains. You will have a stopover at Rabat, the capital of Morocco and the residence of the King. Scrumptious delicacies will be served here. You will also have some spare time to unwind and relax by the seashore if you want. Just a brief stroll by the beautiful coastline is bound to invigorate and revitalize you!

  After this, you will continue your journey to Chefchaouen. Everything in this city is a mesmerizing combination of soft, pastel blue and deeper, powerful hues. The blue walls, windows, doors, stairways, streets, and archways are a visual delight, especially for those who love the color blue!

• Day 3: Tour of Chefchaouen

  Even though this mystical blue town is mainly a residential city, you will find a number of intriguing shops here that will immediately catch your attention. Here, you can discover the beautiful and diverse Moroccan lifestyle with a variety of different shops – shoe repairs, grocery stores, bakeries, and butcher shops – providing people of this city with basic necessities. Oh and don’t forget to visit the new town, which is a display of the incredible Andalusian architecture, along with a picturesque park built at the end of Avenida Mohammed V. If you would like to take a detour and explore the Rif Mountains, your driver will be available to take you there.

• Day 4: Chefchaouen | Volubilis | Moulay Idriss | Fez

  It’s time to say goodbye to Chefchaouen and head south, towards Volubilis. Thanks to the powerful Berber tribes, this city is one of the most distant ones from the Roman Empire’s domain; yet, it still contains some of the most important and extensive remains of the kingdom. This grain-producing city was responsible for fulfilling the voracious Roman appetite and providing them entertainment with the aid of wild animals. At the height of its glory, this city was home to over two hundred thousand people. A major attraction of this city is the Capitoline Temple, which is said to be one of the most beautiful basilicas in Africa back in the day.

  After exploring Volubilis, you will head towards Moulay Idriss, the camel-shaped town. Founded by Moulay Idriss I in 789 after he fled from Makkah, it is the oldest town in Morocco. What makes this city unique is not only the historical fact that the Idriss dynasty was founded here, but also the fact that the town has the only round minaret in Morocco.

  Your day will end in Fez, which is one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. You can spend the night relaxing and preparing for your fun-filled tour around the fascinating city the next day.

• Day 5: Fez Guided Visit

  One of the highlights of this trip would surely be your visit to Fez since the remarkable city has many exotic delights to offer. It would actually take a lifetime to explore the nine thousand streets and alleyways of the incredible city, but lucky for you, your Fez born-and-bred guide will help you explore the major attractions of the city, mainly the tanneries and the various craft souks, called Fondouk Nejjarine in the local language. Other attention-grabbing sights include the King’s Palace and Jewish Quarter, the Batha Museum, and the Pottery Complex. Not only this, but your guide will also tell you many interesting tales about the city, as you uncover the hidden delights it has to offer.

• Day 6: Fez | Ifrane | Cedar Forest | Ziz Valley | Erfoud

  Be sure to grab a fulfilling breakfast, as you’ll have a long drive right after, one that will show you the true wealth of Morocco. You’ll leave Fez around 7 in the morning, and start your journey for Ifrane, the administrative center of the French Protectorate and also a pleasant escape from the scorching heat of the summers.

  Your next destination will be the mesmerizing Cedar Forest. En route, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the largest producer of dates in Morocco, Ziz Valley. Here, you’ll find 283 different types of palm trees and their produce, with Mehjoul being the most delicious and expensive one. If you’re lucky enough, you might also get to taste these dates!

  After this, you’ll get to experience the beautiful Moroccan lifestyle as you have lunch with the International Morocco Travel local coordinator, Idriss, and his family. Idriss lives in a joint family in a traditional Kasbah. The major attraction in their home is definitely the charming garden, where they cultivate most of the produce used in the kitchen. The family also has a pet donkey, some goats as well as chickens, so if you have children accompanying you on this trip, they’ll be excited to see them. Since you’ll have some spare time, you can stroll through the date palms and explore the lovely farms that surround this small village. Your day will end in Erfoud, which will provide you the perfect opportunity to rest after a tiring day.

• Day 7: Day 7 – Sahara Desert (Erg Chebbi)

  As the day begins, you’ll have some spare time before you travel towards Merzouga and step into the golden dunes of the Saharan Desert. Your ride for the day will be your chosen camel, who will help you explore the sandy seas within an hour. You’ll be feasting your eyes on the beautiful landscapes, as the sun dives into the Saharan dunes and sets for the day. To give you a more Saharan-feel, your home for the night will be a Bedouin-style tent in a private area, which will have all the basic necessities. You can also choose to upgrade to the deluxe tents, which are more lavish and luxurious. Regardless of whatever option you choose, spending the night under the stars will be a once in a lifetime experience that you will never forget!

• Day 8: Merzouga | Tinrhir | Todra Gorges | Dades Valley | Skoura (Valley of Kasbahs)

  After spending an incredible night under the stars, you’ll wake up to the glorious rays of the sun shining vibrantly in the sky the next morning. Make sure you capture some photos of this exotic view before heading back to Erfoud, a town known for its fossils and fresh dates that are produced during the harvest festival in October. On your way, you will drive through many local villages, before you take a stopover to witness the breath-taking beauty of nature and have lunch on the sheer stone cliffs at Todra Gorge. Later, you’ll continue your journey towards Erfoud and drive through the scenic Dades Valley, where you’ll see the spectacular rock formations known as Monkey Paws. Your last destination for the day will be Skoura Oasis, known as the beautiful Valley of Kasbahs.

• Day 9: Day 9 –Skoura – Ouarzazate | Ait Ben Haddou | Telouet | Marrakesh

  You’ll leave Skoura after breakfast and head to Ouarzazate, a town that hosts one of the strongholds of the Glaoui family, the Taourirt Kasbah. Afterward, you’ll travel to Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most preserved Kasbahs in the entire Atlas region and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Kasbah has been the backdrop for many popular historical films, including the Lawrence of Arabia, The Last Temptation of Christ, and Gladiator. Thus, as soon as you’ll enter the Kasbah, you’ll reminisce an ancient world that seems somewhat familiar! Not only this, but you’ll also get to visit a Telouet, a not-so-famous Kashbah. This will approximately take an hour. The icing on the cake will definitely be a lunch with a local (and once famous) artist performing for you as soon as you finish your delectable meal. Then you’ll head towards Marrakesh. On your way, you’ll pass through the Tizi n Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, which is known for having 340 bends; though, in reality, there are only 2 bends (left and right) that have been repeated quite a number of times! Your journey for the day will end in Marrakesh.

• Day 10: Marrakesh Guided Visit

  It’s Day 10 but the adventure still continues! Discover the mysteries of Marrakesh Medina and wander through the arms-wide streets of the city on a private guided tour. As your guide walks you through the history of the city’s glorious monuments, you will feel like you’ve traveled back in time. Through his stories, you will learn about the interesting tales of a culture that has stayed consistent over the years (centuries, actually). • Day 11: Marrakesh to Essaouira (Goats Climbing Trees)

  After breakfast, you will leave Marrakesh and head to Essaouira, a picturesque fishing town. Little do people know that this town was featured in the world-famous show ‘Game of Thrones’ as one of the 3 cities at the Slaver’s Bay. Not only this, but the port was also the setting for many scenes of the movie ‘Othello’. The city came to the attention of the tourist industry not too long ago, thus, when it comes to exploring the city, you should follow the locals’ lead. Essaouira has one of the oldest fishing ports in Morocco, Old Mogador, which holds significant value. Founded by the Romans and inhabited by the Portuguese during the 17th century, it is a typical Portuguese harbor, with both Moorish and Portuguese art adding to its beauty. Major attractions include the harbor, medina, ramparts, the 17th century cannons fetched from Spain, and the local artists’ quarter.

• Day 12: Essaouira

  You’ll have the whole day to explore Essaouira. While you’re at it, remember that the beach is the perfect place for a quick stroll or run. Moreover, you can also enjoy a horseback or camel ride right on the captivating coast at sunset. Those who’re not a fan of beaches can explore other things the city has to offer including the crafts shops, hidden vistas, and other gems. Also, if you’re a sports lover, then you’ll be excited to know that this city is home to some amazing wind and kite-surfing schools. To top it all off, you can end your day by enjoying the catch-of-the-day/local fish for dinner (seafood lovers can rejoice!)

• Day 13: Essaouira | Coastal Road | Casablanca

  After breakfast, you’ll leave for Casablanca again but this time, you’ll be driving along the beautiful coastline of the Atlantic Ocean and will also see the gorgeous Medina of El Jadida. This is the spot where the Portuguese built a port, called Mazagan, to protect their ships. We recommend that you visit the citadel and also have a look at the underground cistern before you reach Casablanca.

• Day 14: Depart Casablanca

  Your fun and exhilarating trip will come to an end on this day. Your driver will drive you to the MCN Airport (Casablanca) and then you’ll be on your flight to home, hopefully, with lots of stories and memories of the amazing time you spent in Morocco with our wonderful team!
